Position Responsibilities: Monitors the monthly closing process to make sure it is progressing on schedule, reviews journal entries and ensures that account reconciliations are completed accurately and reviews them on a timely basis Contributes to accounting process improvements and quality assurance efforts and helps document them through Sarbanes-Oxley process mapping and risk control matrices. Responsible for accounting policies and procedures being followed and are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Provides advice on technical issues and accounting practices to the Corporate Director of Accounting. Interfaces with the external auditors for accounting matters; responsible for providing schedules and documents related to the external audit of the Companys financial statements Interfaces with the external auditors and internal auditors for Sarbanes-Oxley matters; responsible for providing documentation and evidence. Supervise, train and develop accounting department staff. Special projects and initiatives as needed. Required experience: 5 years experience managing accounting staff is required BS/BA or Masters in Accounting is required. CPA is required Strong knowledge of GAAP is required. Sarbanes-Oxley 404 experience is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, Access & Power Point) is required Ability to administer multiple requirements under deadlines Superior attention to detail.
