Ambulance Company looking for a stong individual to help with turn aroun. Position description: Develops, reviews and implements internal controls, policies and procedures over company's financial reporting process. Ensures that company has no related material weaknesses or significant design or operating deficiencies that could affect financial reports. Ensures the Finance Department's compliance in all aspects of today's dynamic regulatory environment including section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. This position has frequent contact with corporate executive and field management, as well as public accounting firms/agencies. This position also works closely with the Director of Accounting. Position reports to the Director of Financial Reporting . ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS § Manage the preparation and distribution of financial statements, SEC reporting/filing, maintaining the highest quality, reliability and accuracy. § Coordinate monthly reporting of financial information to all Rural/Metro field operations. § Co-manage the external and internal controls audits. § Develop and maintain the integrity of the financial reporting process. Perform tests of internal controls to ensure effectiveness and compliance. § Coordinate, develop and update written policies and procedures over the financial reporting process. § Coordinate, develop and update flowcharts over the financial reporting process. § Research and resolution of accounting issues including evaluation and implementation
